Bert Brigade, Thought To Be Out of Wifflepalooza, Revived At The Last Moment

Late Thursday night, the Commissioner's Office was notified that Bert Brigade, the two-time champions thought to be bowing out of Wifflepalooza XVIII, are in fact staying in under new management. Former captain and owner Jake Hatki, unavailable to participate in WP18 for personal reasons, is handing over partial ownership and the captain's band to teammate Taylor Cheli. In corresponding moves, the league had de-activated Bert and issued license to Cheli for a new team to be formed. Instead, Bert will be re-activated and the new license revoked.

The news came as a surprise to most, as it seemed the previously expected move was just about finalized. Alas, Bert stays, and has made some changes to the roster to go with it. Along with Hatki, former all-star Rick Fifer will not be on the active roster for Bert. It is unclear at the time of this article whether or not he's available for other franchises to inquire. New additions to the roster include rookie IF Mason Maxwell and rookie OF Jake Guglielmi.
