WIFFLEPALOOZA XIV Awards
MVP
Ryan Ricci, Flapacamingos
.600 BA (9-15), 5HR, 13 RBI, 9RS, 2.351 OPS, 2-1, 1.65 ERA, 17IP, 28K
Ricci's day at the plate helped fuel the Flapacs to a 3-0 start, and his day on the mound was almost enough to push them to the title game. Combine the two, no one had a better overall day.
Cy Young
Tony Donato, Bert Brigade
1-1, 1.17 ERA, 18IP, 32K, 0.77 WHIP
Donato appeared in 5 of the 6 games for Bert Brigade, starting 3 of them, and was absolutely dominant across the day.
Title Game MVP
Ken McCormick, Bert Brigade
6IP, 0H, 0R, 4BB, 12K, 2-4, HR, RBI, RS
It went unnoticed because they used multiple pitchers, but the Bert Brigade threw our 3rd ever title-game no hitter. In shutting out the Goodfellas, no one played a bigger role than McCormick both on the mound and at the plate.
Top Rookie
Tim Suppi Jr., Ironballs
.313 BA (5-16), 3 HR, 10 RBI, 1.438 OPS
Whiff Jr. impressed in his Palooza debut, driving in a team high 10-runs, including a Grand Slam in their final pool play game.
Most Improved
Allen Cruz, Ironballs
.429 BA (6-14), 2 HR, 8 RBI, 1.476 OPS, 1-0, 6.22 ERA, 9IP, 14 K
Cruz was a major factor for the Ironballs, playing in his first tournament since WP12, & his first time as a full participant since WP10.
